Now a days you will find these heritage walking tours everywhere. This is the best way to know the city. It covers city heritage, history, local food and many more. I was so happy to see it when I went to Kuala Lumpur (KL). In KL you will find a separate bay for walking. Isn’t it cool 🙂 Almost everywhere you will find these walking bays. And moreover people are making the best use of it.

In India, there is no such walking bay I have found till now. At many places no road only, then how come you can think of these bay’s(footpath). But Mumbai changed my thoughts completely. I must say Mumbai is the only place in India where you can walk freely.

So lets start with the walking tour in Mumbai. As we all know that the most famous tourist places are located in South Mumbai, we can see every place by walking. It was really challenging due to sunny weather but still I did ;p

You have two options : Either you can start from Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal(VT) or from Churchgate. I started from Churchgate. The list of what to see while walking are as listed below:

Mumbai CST, Museum, Gateway of India, Hotel Taj, Colaba Causeway, Cuff Parade, Flora Fountain, Fort, BSE, Town Hall, Kala Ghoda, RBI, Jahangir Art Gallery, Regal Cinema, Metro Hall, Eros, Fashion Street, High Court, Railway Head quarter, Khau Gali, Marine drive , Nariman Point, Azad Maidan, Bombay University.

Old and Heritage Buildings- Must Watch; Leopold , Mondegar and Starbucks- Cafes; Khau Gali for Street Food(near kala ghoda); Regal, Metro and Eros- Oldest theaters; Cuff Parade- Posh Residential Area; Marine Drive and Nariman Point- Near to Churchgate station; Colaba Causeway and Fashion Street- Street Shopping; Gateway and Taj- Near to Colaba Causeway; Dalal Street, Kala ghoda, Oval Stadium, Khau Gali- Near to Churchgate station; Cuff Parade- Near to Colaba.

Recommended length of Visit: Morning 10am till midnight
