1. Self-check-in kiosk

If you are flying by Indigo or Jet then no need to stand in a queue for the boarding pass; use a convenient self-check-in kiosk for printing your boarding pass and for checking in.

2. Tata-SIA Airlines to be launch in September’14

Delhi based Tata SIA airlines is aiming to start their full-fledged operation from 1st Sept’14. They will operate 87 weekly flights in the first year of its operation from Delhi (Hub), Mumbai, Goa, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Jammu Srinagar, Patna and Chandigarh. For more: Click here

3. Finally Air Asia India ready to Fly

Air Asia India finally got flying license from DGCA and will start its operation with two to three months- Tony Fernando’s, CEO of AIR ASIA announced on twitter. The headquarter will be in Chennai and will fly to all the metropolitan except Mumbai. For more: Click here

4. Spice jet offers 25% discount(on base fare)- Friends and family offer

In order to avail this offer you need to book the flight tickets for min 4 pax and max 9 pax at a time. Only applicable for domestic travels.

5. Now you can use our cell phones in flight but on flight mode- DGCA

Please keep your mobile phones in flight mode instead of switch it off- Airhostess announcement.

6. Spice Jet to pay passengers for flight delays or cancellation

Compensation will be given in the form of travel vouchers. Rs 500/1000- If flight delayed or cancelled for more than 60/120 mins.

7. New government to boost tourism in India

Our New PM- Mr. Modi has included Tourism also in his party Manifesto before elections. The industry is expected to grow by 7.3% in 2014. Isn’t it amazing!!

8. Airbus A-380 to start operating from May 30 in India

The SIA’s A-380 would start flying in and out of India from 30 May, first carrier to introduce daily superjumbo flights from Delhi and Mumbai. It can fly 471 passengers in 3 categories: First class, business class and economy. For more: Click here

9. Foreign tourist arrival shows a growth of 11.5% in April’14 as compared to April’13

This is the best that I want to share so far. Last April it was 4.52 Lakh but this month it 5.04 Lakh. Full Report: Click here

Indian Railways: Largest Railway network in the World

10. Special train between Vijayawada and Ahmadabad

Special train between Ahmadabad and Vijayawada on 30th May, to clear the summer rush. For more: Click here

11. Train fares to go up by 14% from 20th May’14

This 14% includes- 10% flat increased and 4.2% under fuel adjustment component (FAC), also 6.5% increase in freight rates.

12. Bio toilets already installed in Mail and Express trains

Till now 2096 bio toilets had been installed in SL and AC coaches of Mail and Express trains. This leads to saving of 350 CR on corrosion cost.
