Meet Ishita Malviya: India’s first ever Female Professional Surfer

She is young, lovely and Beautiful. She is vivacious and India’s first ever professional female surfer.

She herself said:

“In India the girl is expected to go to school, start working, get married and have babies. Its crazzzyyyyyyy. I would have never imagine , even in my widest dream that i would be India first female surfer.”

A Journalism student turned surfer has broken all the stereotypes that bind Indian Women to do what they want. She has proved that each and every women has potential to do what they want. The video has been uploaded by story tellers for Good in collaboration with Brown Surf Girl on Vimeo.

This video tells the story of struggle to convince her parents to take surfing as a Career. Also, how people got amazed  today if they saw any girl surfing. She is truly an inspiration for many of the upcoming girl surfer.   She has done what she wants to do  and now she is on the way to fulfill other girls dream who want to be a surfer.

Currently she runs the Shark Surf Club in Manipal  along with co founder- Tushar Pathiyan,
